Dr. Winston, is both the founder and medical director of American Behavioral Clinics. As a leader in the field, he always strives for excellent clinical outcomes that result in extremely satisfied patient. At a first appointment, a patient can expect a thorough review of medical history and current symptoms to formulate an appropriate diagnosis. By blending his clinical skills with a thorough knowledge of medicine and current treatment alternatives, Dr. Winston then works with his patients to prepare a treatment plan that usually involves psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
In relation to his treatment outcomes, Dr. Winston’s emphasis is on having a trusting, collaborative relationship with his patients. His professionalism, yet contagious sense of humor and easy-going style has helped develop long term relationships with many of his patients.
Education & Qualifications: Dr. Winston is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and has been in practice for over 30 years. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1981 and completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, in 1985. Understanding the psychopharmacology of the brain is one of Dr. Winston’s biggest strengths. As a national speaker, he has lectured on most medications and keeps current on the newest breakthroughs in the field. His knowledge of pharmaceuticals combined with years of experience provide him an edge in prescribing an effective treatment regimen for his patients.
