Jay takes an active role in the treatment process, helping people to identify and choose from among available options. He emphasizes on improving coping, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Jay’s area of expertise primarily focuses on cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and psycho-educational therapy.

EDUCATION:
He graduated with his Masters in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1978. Having over 38 years of diverse experience, he not only specializes in therapy but in education as well. He taught as a senior lecturer at The UWM Graduate School of Social Work, was a Clinical Field Instructor at Marquette University, and was a Clinical Field Instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In addition to being a university lecturer, he has been a P.O.S.T. team instructor at Milwaukee Police Academy and guest instructor at the Gateway Technical College Law Enforcement Training Center.

Professional awards include being elected to the National Social Work Honor Society.
