Project Description

At American Behavioral Clinics, we can help give back what depression has taken away from you. Healthy relationships, physical energy, quality of life–everyone’s list is different. But the first thing we give back to all our patients is hope. Hope in a treatment that’s truly unique. Hope in long-lasting results. Hope in remission.

What is TMS Therapy?

When it comes to depression, you can’t always depend on medications alone. Fortunately, American Behavioral Clinics offers proven non-drug therapies like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulations (TMS) as a safe treatment option designed to help you climb out of depression when other treatments may not work. TMS Therapy is a non-invasive, medication free technique that uses magnetic fields to stimulate and activate the areas of the brain thought to be underactive in people with depression. The magnetic pulses are similar to those used in MRI. It’s proven to offer long-term depression symptom relief and covered by most insurances.

Safe and Effective:
FDA cleared since 2008. More than 1 million treatments have been performed to over 25,000 patients.
Medication Free:
Can safely be used with or without antidepressant medications.
TMS is a non-invasive procedure. You are awake and alert for treatments and can engage in normal activities immediately after treatment.
No Side Effects of Medications:
Free from side effects often felt with medications. The most common side effect is pain or discomfort around the treatment area, which usually goes away within a week.

TMS Therapy Treatment Process

TMS Therapy is an in-office treatment that takes an average of 17 minutes per session, is performed while the patient sits in a chair, and administered five days a week, for up to four to six weeks.

Step 1: The patient sits comfortably in treatment chair, awake and alert.
Step 2: The TMS device containing the magnetic coil rests lightly on the patient’s head.
Step 3: The device delivers focused magnetic stimulation directly to the target areas of the brain.
Step 4: The patient can immediately resume normal activities.
