We Treat Anxiety Together

We know that treatment for Anxiety cannot be approached with a one-size-fits-all treatment plan. We work with you to discover what the root cause of your Anxiety is and treat it from there. For example, Anxiety can be a result of anxiety or another mental health issue. We work with you to discover this and determine what your goals are. From there, we come up with a treatment plan that you can follow given your lifestyle, maximizing the likelihood of recovery.

Anxiety Medication Management

American Behavioral Clinics (ABC) offers comprehensive anxiety management services, including medication management and various forms of psychotherapy for children and adults. Effective treatment for anxiety at ABC typically involves a personalized approach where a psychiatrist works closely with the patient to determine the best medication options, often in combination with talk therapy. This approach aims to create a tailored plan to manage symptoms and help patients regain control over their mental health.

Common medications prescribed for anxiety include:

  • Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) like sertraline (Zoloft®) and paroxetine (PaxilTM)
  • Serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) such as venlafaxine (Effexor®) and
  • Benzodiazepines like lorazepam (Ativan®) for short-term relief of acute anxiety symptoms.

Each medication category works differently to help balance brain chemistry, reduce anxiety symptoms, and support more stable emotional health

For comprehensive care, ABC also provides cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and individual or family therapy. These therapies help patients identify and adjust negative thought patterns, providing tools to manage anxiety alongside or in place of medication, depending on individual needs and preferences.
